Elisha Canning

Position: Solicitor / Director

Elisha is an accomplished solicitor with over twenty-years of experience working in the field of criminal law, including police station representation and criminal defence at Magistrates’ Courts and Crown Court. Elisha’s extensive legal experience has led her to successfully represent clients in cases including murder, infanticide, kidnap, rape, terrorism, conspiracy to import class A drugs, arson with intent to endanger life, and dangerous dog offences amongst many others.

With a passion and flair for criminal defence, Elisha specialises solely in this area of law and has a proven track record in advocating successfully for her clients and the right to a fair trial. Elisha is highly empathetic and works with some of the most vulnerable clients, including those with mental health conditions, and has completed specialist training to work with young and vulnerable witnesses.

Elisha will take on highly complex of cases and can often see the viability of running a defence in cases where other solicitors and legal firms would fail to do so. For example, she has run defences of self-defence and non-insane automatism with great success. Elisha thrives when conducting her own trial and her eye for detail and meticulous preparation when taking cases to court has resulted in acquittals for many of her clients.
